Honda is a respected automotive brand whose lineup is nothing short of spectacular, and it's been this way for decades. Honda is also no stranger to trends and often succeeds in knowing when to strike when the iron is hot; it happened with EVs, hybrids, and, before that, some of the most influential SUVs during the segment's boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Pilot was one such vehicle released during this time.

The 2025 Honda Pilot is revered for several reasons, and you and your family will surely be pleased with one of your own. Its capabilities, efficiency, and many standard features separate it from lesser models, as do its sizable exterior and interior. The 2025 Pilot is worth getting behind the wheel of if you're interested in buying an SUV built to last that has striking value, and we'd be honored to help you find one today.

Performance

A white 2025 Honda Pilot off-roading.

The 2025 Honda Pilot has enough power under the hood for your family's needs, thanks to a capable 3.5L V6 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission that provides smooth handling as you gain speed. The powertrain allows a maximum towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs on a Class III tow hitch, so why not bring a camper to the campground or jet skis to your favorite lake?

This is an excellent SUV for any adventurous family because it's built with off-roaders in mind. This is evident through its seven available drive modes, available all-wheel drive (AWD), cameras for safely navigating trails, and ample ground clearance. Selectable drive modes make a massive difference in how the 2025 Pilot performs in the rough. The three key drive modes are Normal, Econ, and Sport. Econ mode helps you retain better efficiency at the expense of power, while Sport mode is the opposite, supplying a hearty acceleration kick but with a slightly higher fuel expenditure.

The other four drive modes available for the 2025 Pilot are Snow, Sand, Trail, and Tow. Select any of these modes depending on the terrain you're driving on or to accommodate whatever task is at hand, and you'll be pleased with the results. Having dedicated drive modes for various ground conditions or whether you're towing is a simple and effective way of orienting your SUV's output into different key areas, like more torque, better handling, and so on.

The 3.5L V6 engine is responsible for the 2025 Pilot's 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Your fuel efficiency depends on your drivetrain, but the EPA's estimations are comparable, regardless of whether you have front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive; with the former, you get an EPA-estimated 19 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway, while the latter is estimated to net you 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway.[b] The 2025 Pilot has an 18.5-gal fuel tank, which allows for approximately 407 miles of range in front-wheel drive and 388 miles in all-wheel drive.

Dimensions

The 2025 Pilot employs a large cabin with three rows of seats, so it's perfect for larger families with more than five people. For example, if you're a parent with several children, or extended family lives with you, the Pilot is an SUV built to serve them as well as it serves you. Achieving this requires careful planning and masterful engineering. It's no surprise that Honda could do so—and with that classic Honda quality, too.

Creating a great three-row SUV can't be done without a spacious interior, and that's what you get with the 2025 Pilot. It has 40.5 inches of front-row headroom and 41 inches of legroom, making it suitable for tall drivers looking for proper accommodations. Second-row passengers have nearly identical headroom and legroom measurements, with slight variations; the 2025 Pilot's second row has 40.2 inches of headroom and 40.8 inches of legroom. The tall interior extends to the third row, where passengers experience 39.3 inches of headroom and 32.5 inches of legroom.

The beauty of any three-row SUV is the cargo configurations you can choose between as needed. If all three rows are in their normal positions, your 2025 Pilot retains 18.6 cu.ft. of cargo space. This is plenty for weekly grocery shopping and general daily usage like errands, school projects, beach equipment, and more. If you keep the first two rows as is but fold the third row, your Pilot's cargo space is uplifted to 48.5 cu.ft., which is around 161% more room. If you're folding both back rows, you get the 2025 Pilot's maximum cargo capacity of 87 cu.ft.

The 2025 Pilot's impressive interior space is no surprise, given its exterior dimensions. It's the widest and tallest vehicle in its class, measuring 78.5 inches wide and between 70.2 and 72 inches tall, depending on the trim; it's also between 199.9 and 200.2 inches long, which makes it the second-longest in its class, slightly behind the Toyota Grand Highlander (the three-row SUV that's the second-widest and second-tallest in its class, behind the 2025 Pilot).

Features

The 2025 Pilot is brimming with exciting features focused on comfort, entertainment, connectivity, safety, and more. An example of a notable comfort feature is the 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 2-way power lumbar support standard on every trim. If you have a spouse or live with anyone who will also drive the 2025 Pilot regularly, the EX-L trim and above support two memory settings for the driver's seat and side mirrors. The co-pilot is treated to a 4-way power-adjustable seat with any 2025 Pilot trim; both front-row seats are heated seats on every trim, with second-row heated seats standard on the Elite and Black Edition.

Cloth seats are standard with the Sport. The EX-L and Touring get genuine leather seats, as do the Elite and Black Edition, albeit the latter two have a more lavish perforated leather design. The TrailSport uses high-quality synthetic leather but with orange stitching to lend it a more sporty aesthetic. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard with each 2025 Pilot trim, and it is heated on the TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition.

The 2025 Pilot is built with the expectation that you'll often drive others around—family, friends, coworkers, you name it. Several features are here to make rides with others more personable, enjoyable, and comfortable. For example, a tri-zone automatic climate control system with humidity control and air filtration is standard on every trim, with dedicated second-row controls on the second trim level (EX-L) onward.

Tri-zone automatic climate controls allow you, your co-pilot, and the second row to have distinct climate zones with configurable temperatures that don't interfere with the others. Having second-row controls means that rear passengers can tune the temperature to their liking without having to ask front-row occupants to do it for them. Your passengers also have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot for their wireless devices, which is standard on the Touring, Elite, and Black Edition trims. A conversation mirror located above your rearview mirror is standard on the EX-L; this is primarily used to make it easier to monitor children or guests.

The 2025 Pilot's base Sport trim has a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, playing audio through a seven-speaker audio system with a subwoofer. Each successive trim comes standard with a 9-inch infotainment center featuring a physical volume knob, SiriusXM and HD radio integration, and—on the EX-L and TrailSport—an upgraded nine-speaker audio system. (The Touring, Elite, and Black Edition get a premium 12-speaker audio system courtesy of Bose.)

Every trim with the 9-inch infotainment center has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a standard wireless phone charging pad to complete the untethered multimedia experience as you charge your phone while streaming. Every trim from the EX-L onward also has an in-car PA system where your voice is projected through your cabin's speakers when you talk into a microphone; this helps when you need to gather everyone's attention or someone in the back is having trouble hearing you.

A digital 7-inch Driver Information Interface screen is standard on every trim to display your dashboard's gauges, except for the Elite and Black Edition, which instead have larger 10.2-inch screens. The Elite and Black Edition also have a 4-inch head-up display that projects your speed, turn-by-turn directions, and other information onto your dashboard, though without interfering with your visibility. These screens help the interior feel more modern and informative, especially when combined with the infotainment center.

The 2025 Pilot is popular with families because of Honda Sensing, which comes standard. This safety suite guarantees you're getting some state-of-the-art tech at no additional cost. For example, every trim has a Forward Collision Warning and a Collision Mitigation Braking System to help you notice and prevent front-end collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians moments before they occur.

Your 2025 Pilot also has a Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation System. The Lane Departure Warning activates when your vehicle detects that you're accidentally switching lanes, usually indicated by not using your signals or by slowly drifting. The Lane Keeping Assist System will help you gently steer your vehicle back to the center of your lane. The Road Departure Mitigation System activates if you're in danger of veering off the road, also applying a slight steering input to correct your position. These features are an extra precautionary layer as you drive.
